Fantasy land

This blog is only a couple of months old, and already I’ve found ways to mention “Twilight” three or four times. I may have stumbled upon the movie by accident, but I have totally bonded with the film, books, and Edward.

Have I been abused for my love of “Twilight?”  Yes.  Have I watched the movie a few times past healthy?  Perhaps.  Have I felt shame for my near obsession?  Mmmmmm…..no.

(Maybe.)

But that has all changed.

Yesterday I spoke with a man who is a member of five fantasy sports leagues.  Five.  Two fantasy football leagues.  Two fantasy baseball leagues.  One fantasy hockey league.  And one fantasy NASCAR league.

Fantasy NASCAR?  I didn’t even know there was fantasy NASCAR.  (And what’s the fantasy?)

If one man can have that many fantasy sports leagues and announce it in front of everyone with no shame, and no thought of reprimand or insult, then I can go ape shit over one measly little vampire film.

Fantasy NASCAR…I mean, seriously.

  1. I am in 5 fantasy leagues. 3 football, 2 English Premier futbol leagues. At least each games ends differently. Pretty sure Twilight ends the same every time you read it and all 43 times you’ve watched the movie…..

  2. The NASCAR league I understand, I am not in one, but I understand. The other leagues are beyond me. Now I am in a fantasy hunting league. Very fun.

  3. Carla, you name the sport, and one of your readers will be able to steer you to a fantasy league for it. I was in a fantasy racing league last year. You picked four drivers, and so did your opponents. You got points according to where your drivers finished in the race.
As for me, I’m a live and let live kind of person. I have three fantasy football leagues going this year. If you prefer spending your free time reading about kids sucking each other’s blood (as opposed to watching large men try to bash each other’s brains in), who am I to judge?

  4. Well…I am the only one who knows about it and I am the sole member.
