Three way

I learned a new word today:

Truel

Then I realized I had seen one; I just didn’t know it.

A truel is a duel between three people.  I’ve never actually witnessed a real one, but I have had a front row seat for one at the movies.

There was a truel at the end of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.  At the end of Dead Again, too.  Jack Sparrow even ‘trueled’ with Will Turner and James Norrington in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

I didn’t see that one.

But I’m surprised more movies and TV shows don’t use the truel.  It seems fraught with drama.  And bullets.  And bodies.

Maybe even a spat or two.
