Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway — you’re Oscar winners!
But whereas the world loves Jennifer, most folks find Anne just…so annoying.
What gives?
Both are talented actresses. Both gave Oscar-worthy performances this year — Jennifer in Silver Linings Playbook and Anne in Les Miserables. And both are attractive and smart.
But of the two, only Jennifer appears comfortable enough to stop acting…to be herself on the awards show stage. So her speeches — and even her trip up the Oscar stairs — appear to be authentic expressions of emotion.
Not badly acted attempts at sincerity.
So stop it, Anne…or we’re taking all the shiny trophies back.

Anne knew she was the odds-on favorite to win. Couldn’t she have prepared an acceptance speech instead of just listing names? And within her speech, try to have some bits of spontaneity? The “it came true” line rang so false to me. So count me as one of the annoyed by her. (p.s. I love Jennifer!)
Couldn’t people just congratulate Anne and not be so snarky?
What is our society coming to? If we want civility from Congress, the least we can do is practice it ourselves.
I think Anne deserves the Oscar for her performance in Les Miz, no question. But I don’t think it is being ‘snarky’ to point out bad acting on an acting awards show stage. No sirree.
