A mouthful

I am very compromise-oriented.

Just ask my family.

So I appreciate clever companies who create products with compromises built right in.

For example, I don’t do the big Turkey Day dinner; I haven’t for years.  I prefer to spend the day at the Macy’s Parade and the movie theater, munching on popcorn and candy.

And this year’s menu will include Thanksgiving Gumballs!

In turkey, pumpkin pie and cranberry flavors, these candies are a mini-Thanksgiving dinner, which should placate friends and family horrified that I’m skipping the biggest holiday-sanctioned food fest of the year.

Plus, they will help me keep the holiday in mind while I’m viewing The Muppet Movie and The Descendants.  ‘Cause nothing makes a person feel more thankful than…

Turkey balls.

Bloody smart

Hating Twilight?  It’s practically a national pastime.

So you might expect movies that release this time of year — the same time as Twilight Breaking Dawn: Part 1, which opens this Friday — to hate the franchise as well.  Heck, some of them probably do.

But not The Muppet Movie.

Proving that puppets are smart and pretty, too, The Muppet Movie has chosen to use the frenzy that inevitably surrounds each Twilight installment to their advantage…by creating character posters that parody the sparkly franchise.

I vant to shake their marketing director’s little puppet hand.

Way to work it!

Animal magnetism

I read that Jason Segel, writer and star of the upcoming The Muppet Movie, cried when he first met his muppet co-stars.

I so get that.

I have loved the TV show since day one and consider Muppet Christmas Carol to be the most charming and heartwarming version of the classic tale to date. (I do not overstate here; watch it with your family.)

After seeing Jason’s turn and talent with puppets in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I trust him to update the Muppets for the big screen in their latest adventure.

And it looks like he’s getting a little help.

Major fashion designers like Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung have dressed Miss Piggy in custom made, signature pieces from their collections in the latest issue of InStyle magazine.

I’ve said it before, but it so applies here:

Pretty piggy.
