My blog, Facebook and Twitter feeds of late have been filled with praise for The Bridges of Madison County, which ended its too-short Broadway run this past Sunday.
I was fortunate enough to see the show twice, including its final performance. But for those of you who were not able to attend — and perhaps have smiled indulgently at my near-obsessive behavior — I wanted to give you a taste of the quality performance I enjoyed.
Here’s Steven Pasquale performing “It All Fades Away” for the studio recording. (The note at 3:20 literally fills your head during the live performance.)

While this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live with guest host Charlize Theron won’t go on any “Best of” lists, there was one Digital Short that is getting a lot of attention.
In “Tourists,” SNL cast members (including Theron) dressed up as — you got it — tourists and pranked the good people of New York City with indecipherable questions, unknown accents, picture taking confusion and general craziness.
It was very funny.
And I want to point out — despite all the weirdness that SNL threw at them, every New Yorker really tried to help them out.
Points for us!

At the beginning of March, I never would have dreamed that the 2014 NCAA tournament would be so much fun (or that my bracket — with my alma mater Kentucky in the finals — would be so highly accurate).
All those nail-biter games with Harrison’s incredible last-second shots (joined together in this composite video below)!
I am so proud of what this Kentucky Wildcats team has accomplished –
Thanks for the memories, guys!

I auditioned for a web video today.
The role was “angry cashier.”
It was a real character part…and lots of fun to do.
The casting director was also seeing men for another role. But they didn’t get a script to review like me. Instead, they were simply told as they entered the waiting area:
Remove your shirt.
I have never been so happy to be a woman!

My friend Caroline is one of the most creative people I know. So it’s no surprise that her kids are doing amazing things.
Nick, a filmmaker, has his mom’s skewed sense of humor…which translates into some pretty fun stuff on screen.
The recent, recurring snowy weather inspired his latest short, “Winter Clothing.”
Wes Anderson would be proud.

I loved the musical sketch “Boy Dance Party” when it aired on Saturday Night Live way back in October. Bruce Willis and all the guys dancing around the living room while the girls were away?
If possible, it has been made even better with the addition of a very enthusiastic toddler.
His parents won’t let people embed the video, but you can still enjoy it on Youtube.
(I like the kid way better than them.)

I’ve watched a lot of television this weekend.
It must be winter.
And every time I saw the HBO logo animation before the start of an original series or movie, I was reminded of Six Feet Under.
It was one of the first and the best. That familiar static signals the beginning of the quality TV we’ve come to expect.
But the Showtime bumper?
The audio is always SO loud compared to the programming before or after. It screams for our attention. I’m annoyed before the shows even start!
(Sorry, True Detective — I’ll try not to hold it against you.)
