In the cards

Why are you drawn to a certain career?  Is it your personality?  Your astrological sign?  Your parents’ connections?

Would you believe…a playing card?

Destiny Cards are a ‘science’ that match birth dates to each playing card in a simple deck of 52.  Each card suit and number are assigned personality traits.  Learn your Destiny Card, and you can supposedly discover the careers best suited for you.

For example, my birthday is March 28th — it’s never too late for cards and gifts, ya know — and according to the calendar, my Destiny Card is the 8 of clubs.  Here’s how they break it down:

Eight is the number of power and abundance. You enjoy attention and have special talents in the area of your suit (clubs – knowledge).  Avoid power struggles.

Clubs are creative and experience life through talking and learning. As the students of the deck, Clubs are curious, always thinking, and love to talk, read and teach. The positive club is brilliant and well-informed; the negative club can be a dishonest know-it all. Great careers for Clubs include teaching, writing, law and journalism.

Uh, snap!  That’s pretty much me on the head.  Maybe there’s more to these Destiny Cards than I first thought.

Give it a try yourself and see what you think.

  1. Ok, kinda funny! My birthday is June 11, so ends up to be the 6 of diamonds. Diamonds are supposed to be drawn to math-related jobs… but math gives me a rash! I’m a words-girl, not a numbers-girl.

The 6 card was on the head, tho… Easygoing, peaceful and fair, prefer to avoid confrontation, but not afraid to stand up for myself. That fits!

That was fun, thanks for posting it!

  2. Mine is also the eight of clubs. Hmmmmmm . . .
