Add this to the list of things that your parents never tell you…
The 2014 US Open Miniature Golf Tournament starts today in nearby Oceanport, New Jersey at the Bluegrass Miniature Golf Course.
And if we wanted to, you and I could play!
We just have to declare ourselves professionals and join the US ProMiniGolf Association. (The fee is $25.) Then there’s the US Open tourney fee of $100. It’s a par 40 course without the typical windmills and clowns, and the winner takes home $3,500.
(So, don’t expect to see Tiger or Rory in the lineup.)
And get this — men and women play together. In fact, the favorite is a 19-year girl from the Czech Republic who has won all the miniature golf majors this year.
This tour sounds way more fun than the PGA — am I right???
