Tis’ the season for all things Halloween…
But a candy corn bagel?
Yes, that is the super-shiny, garishly colored baked product on the left.
It’s sold, of course, at a bakery in my beloved adopted hometown of New York City.
Now, I love a theme, but this bagel just looks wrong to me. But before I pass judgment, I wanted to get your thoughts.

Kids today have it SO GOOD.
Case in point: Charlotte, the daughter of my friends Amy and Chris.
Charlotte requested an Angry Birds-themed cake for her birthday. Did Amy pick up the phone, call a bakery and order the aforementioned birdie birthday baked good?
She made the entire cast of fierce, feathered friends in fondant. All by HERSELF.
Charlotte is one lucky little girl.
And Amy is rockin’ creative!

Did you start your morning right with a cronut?
If you answered ‘yes,’ you’re definitely a New Yorker, because this brand new croissant / doughnut hybrid is only available here in the Big Apple…at the Dominique Ansel Bakery on Spring Street.
Why is everyone crazed for cronuts? They’re fried, cream-filled and sugar-coated.
Set your sensors on stun.
When the bakery opens at 7:30am, there is already a long line. They’ve had to set a limit of six cronuts per person…and they go for $5 a pop!
Rumor has it ‘influential’ food bloggers can get them delivered…
(Better plan a trip downtown.)
