For 20 years, photographer Peter Thorpe has put his dog in costume for his annual holiday card — first Paddy and then Raggle have been dressed up and propped to celebrate the season.
No Photoshop allowed.
Seeing this display, I’m even more resolute to never dress up my dog for Halloween or Christmas.
And definitely not Thanksgiving.

One of my Twitter buddies mentioned today that, as a kid, he wanted to make a career out of creating the images below.
They’re Spirograph, which was one of my favorite toys as a kid. (If you haven’t heard of it, well, you’re probably not a Boomer.)
We used pen and ink on paper and the special Spirograph tools to create those images — this was years before laptop computers or Photoshop manipulation were common.
They were all handmade.
Looking at all the discs and circles in the kit, I am itching to play with it again. It was a lot of fun.
Wonder what became of our Spirograph?
Egg siblings — any ideas?

I had new head shots made a couple of weeks ago, and while I had the photographer’s undivided attention, struck a couple of poses just for the fun of it.
Here’s my favorite.
My friends will tell you this has become somewhat of a signature move for me (no matter how ill-advised).
I posted the shot on Facebook today and within minutes, one friend who has a talent for Photoshop quickly added his own editorial spin to the pic not once, but twice:
(What can I say — the guy knows what I like.)
I welcome any other friends of The Egg to post your creations in the comments section. (Note I said ‘friends’…and I do moderate all comments.)
Can’t wait to give your creativity a big thumbs up!

What does a migraine feel like?
This is just one example of the mind boggling work of Swedish photographer and Photoshop guru Erik Johansson.
And the most mind boggling thing? He’s only 21 years old.
Now my head really hurts.

Poor celebrities. We just can’t seem to leave them alone.
So why start now?
I discovered this website via a tweet from the Vulture, New York Magazine’s entertainment and culture blog:
And that’s exactly what it is — pics of celebrities that have been Photoshopped so we can see what they look like without eyebrows.
Vulnerable. Alien. Ridiculous.
Depending on how you feel about at it, it’s either mean-spirited or good, clean fun. (I vote fun.) And to show that I am willing to take what I dish out — or erase in this case — here is how I look both with and without eyebrows:
Well..there’s egg on my face!
