I’ve watched three episodes of This Is Us on NBC.
The pilot was so good, it could have been a stand-alone movie. The second episode matched it. And tonight’s made me realize I wasn’t keeping score any more —
I’m all in.
So, I am sorry I’m just now mentioning it. I’ve been distracted by really excellent TV.
Congratulations to Ray Romano!
He’s signed a deal to appear in the pilot of a new HBO drama that centers on the world of rock-and-roll in the sexy, druggie 1970s. Ray will play the right-hand man to a record executive (portrayed by Bobby Cannavale).
This is amazing news! I think someone deserves a new hat…

Don’t you just hate getting the go around?
That’s right — the ‘go around.’
My flight from Chicago got one from air traffic control as we neared LaGuardia tonight.
We had just finished flying up the Hudson River and were within mere seconds of landing when the pilot suddenly accelerated upward, away from the airport.
As we appeared to leave the city, he explained that we received the ‘go around’ order because an aircraft was taking off on the same runway.
So we entered a holding pattern and landed about 20 minutes later.
Obviously we were very lucky, and I doubt anyone on the plane minded the slight delay.
But I’ll miss my stomach.
